I learned how to 🏃 and 🏋️ with CHP.
I have run 8 marathons. My most recent was the Pittsburgh Marathon on 2023-05-07, which I finished in 3:56:59.
My personal best is running a 3:37:54 at the Oakland Marathon on 2014-03-23. A close second was running the Houston Marathon in 3:38:07 on 2013-01-13. A lot of work went into cutting 13 seconds (0.5 sec per mile) off my time over the course of a year!
I have also run some trail races at shorter distances. My first was The North Face Endurance Challenge Washington D.C. on 2019-04-27. I ran the half marathon in 2:30:55 - it was a bit muddy and a lot of fun. I also ran the 17.1 mile Imogen Pass Run on 2023-09-09 (starting elevation was 7,810 ft, and 10 miles later I reached Imogene Pass at 13,120 ft) and the Pikes Peak Ascent on 2024-09-21 (starting elevation was 6,300 ft, and 13.3 miles later I reached the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 ft).
I have competed in 1 powerlifting competition - the 2017 USPA Metroflex Classic. My total was 903.9 lbs, with 281.1 lb squat, 214.9 lb bench, and 407.9 lb deadlift. I left 20 to 30 lbs on the table because I had reps disqualified for racking too quickly 😞
